Living History Day Schedule

SCHOOL/LIVING HISTORY DAY
FRIDAY, September 18, 2020

Welcome to the 26th Annual Battle of Sacramento, Kentucky!
This is where American Civil War history was made, and you can be
a part of that.

The Battle of Sacramento Committee and city and citizens of Sacramento and McLean County are excited to be able to bring you this much anticipated series of events. To have been an much beloved annual event for a quarter of a century is a tribute to many persons. We are grateful for your commitment to attendance and participation!

Friday (September 18th) is School/Living History Day (LHD) where we offer multiple opportunities, listed below, to meet and participate in activities to deepen your appreciation for the way things were done nearly 158 years ago.
(We suggest that you bring a light chair with you so that you can comfortably enjoy the many events.)

Note that there are some special events planned for this 26th year of the Battle of Sacramento, including a special dramatic presentation of "Reflecting on the War", a well-documented one-act play written especially for this year! Full details are included in the Schedule of Living History Modules listed below.

We encourage you to visit and participate as you are able. Seek experiences, ask questions, and take as many photos as you would like. You are welcome to visit the camps. (Please respect privacy. These tents are actually the reenactor's homes during the event.) Perhaps you would like to observe a surgeon at work or help raise a tent! Please post your photos and share on Facebook, Twitter and other social media.

REMEMBER! Children & Senior Citizens just pay $5 on Friday ONLY.
(Pay once and receive a special button that gets you in ALL THREE (3) DAYS!)

Many of the module events listed below will be available at TWO DIFFERENT TIMES and last about 20-30 minutes or so. That will allow visitors to make choices as you plan your day. Please don't hesitate to ask for directions and suggestions as you walk, learn and participate.
